Hygeia Foundation, Inc.® is a 501-c3, non-profit organization. It funded by Founder and President  by in-kind donations and by the extraordinary work of a passionate Parent's Board who recently coordinated and ran our first fund raising event. The innovative programs such as  GetCare.info, are funded by the General Revenus of the Hygeia Foundation, Inc. and by annual licensing fees from Preferred Affinity Institutions / Organizations; i.e. hospitals, clinics, healthcare providers. which benefit from these programs.

Two levels of participation are offered.

Level 1:  Standard participating listing as an Affinity  Insitution which signifies a synergy and similarity of mission to Hygeia. This can be requested by the organization or added by Hygeia Foundation directly.
Level II: Preferred Affinity Institution / Organization, a status which will enable these strategic institutions to co-brand and co-market the programs and services offered by Hygeia, display its logo and receive recognition as a Preferred Hygeia Affinity Institution in the public database.  Exclusive listing opportunities are available in select healthcare markets.

Hygeia®  is a unique program. It was founded in 1995 and was among the first program to provide comfort and solace and information to families who have experienced the loss of a pregnancy, newborn or infant child. Since its inception, Hygeia® has become the leading global Internet community for pregnancy loss and neonatal death and an important resource for maternal and child health. It maintains the largest online database of families now approaching 24,000 registered members at a rate of 300-500 per month. Hygeia® has been featured in several media reports, among them, the New York Times, The Boston Globe and The San Francisco Chronicle. It Founder, Michael R. Berman, M.D. has been interviewed about his work by Katie Couric on the NBC Today Show and by Lisa Birnbach on the CBS Early Show and on ABC’s The Discovery Health Channel. Hygeia ® was honored as finalist in the International Information Technology Competition, The Stockholm Challenge, Stockholm, Sweden, 2001, 2002.
