Assisting
low-income families to bury and memorialize their children
The Hygeia Foundation and Institute for Perinatal Loss and Bereavement in concert with the
New Haven Department of Health maintains a burial and memorial fund to assist low-income
families respectfully bury their children in the New Haven Community and soon, beyond.
Because it is the mission of the Hygeia Foundation to help ease the pain at these most
difficult of times, The Hygeia Foundation also provides a poem which can be recited
for the memorial/funeral service. This poem,
originally written for a family whose child had died, is rededicated to deceased child. The presiding Clergy recites this poem at the
service or gives this poem to the family.Contact Dr. Berman
