Hygeia ®  and Get Care at Hygeia®  are the major programs of the  Hygeia Foundation, Inc., an IRS approved non-profit, 501(c)(3)tax-exempt organization whose mission is to comfort those who grieve the loss of a pregnancy or newborn child, alleviate the angst which accompanies the parenting and caring for critically ill neonates, and make universally available 'new technologies' to assuage the hurt, grieving and sorrow which accompany these losses. Furthermore, the Hygeia Foundation, Inc. is focusing efforts to narrow access to healthcare services for medically underserved, and disenfranchised women and their families.

Advertising policy :
No advertisements are accepted and Hygeia.org does not host or receive funding from advertising. Since its inception in 1995, Hygeia.org  has been free of "banner advertising" or sponsorship by organizations which have demonstrable conflicts of interest.  Certain in-kind donations of information technology and marketing  consultations and services by companies have helped Hygeia function. i.e. donation of server space.   All editorial control is maintained by the Board of the Hygeia Foundation, Inc.  

Source of Funding:
Hygeia.org  is funded by donations, honorariums, grants and the licensing of its programs to relevant institutions and companies. Start up funding was by its Founder and Author, Michael R. Berman, M.D. It receives no other external source of funding.

Hygeia and the Hygeia Foundation is independent with an independent Board of Directors and Advisors.
